When I found this item I was so excited so I ordered it and couldn't wait to receive it. Once I installed it I noticed that it blocked the lap belt straps on the sides. There is no way to "install" it the proper way and use the seat. You can use it by not putting the seat buckle part through the slot in the seat protector and pushing the whole thing back enough so the lap belts can be used. But this causes the whole thing to move every-time your child gets in and out of their car seat which is a pain. It is a great idea, but should not be marketed that it works will all car seats. I will probably be returning this item.
Update: 12/14/09 After contacting the manufacturer with my concern I asked if they had any pictures showing how to install the seat protector. They sent my some pictures and I installed it the "correct" way. We have been using it for 5 months now and it works. I do have to readjust it almost every other time I have to put my child in the seat. It does hold items, but once you take them out it's hard for my child to put the items back in. If the pockets stayed open more and I didn't have to adjust it all the time I would love this product.
I purchased this item for a toddler convertible carseat. It fits very well in it and doesn't seem to bother my child when sitting on it. The side pockets are useful to keep extra toys and avoid the car mess in general. Very satisfied.
