Customer Reviews

I had read a lot of reviews that stated the faultiness of the foot rest falling every time their child got in and out. When we got the footrest, it wouldn't even hold our son's feet if he just rested them upon it. He is 3 and when we got it, he weighed approx. 35 lbs. and was 3'4".
However, I found that if you take two lollipop sticks (the white cardboard kind you can buy at a craft store) and some poster tack (the blue sticky stuff you knead to put posters on a wall), you can fix the problem!
The slider that adjusts how far up/down the foot rest moves (not the tilting part for the angle of the rest) can be set in place so your child can't push it down with his feet rendering it useless. Cut two lollipop sticks to the desired length of where it is comfortable for your child (hold one up to the groove and eyeball it-it doesn't have to be exact). Slip the lollipop sticks into the groove on the inside where the foot rest adjusts up and down. Wedge them into that groove as far as they will go. They will seem to stay in place on their own, but with frequent use, they tend to fall out, so knead some poster tack and squish it into the groove at the top and bottom, adhering the lollipop sticks into the groove.
Ours have held like that for over 8 months of daily use.
We leave the footrest in the car at all times now, so that it is always ready for use.

so, like some of the other reviews say, it is very weak and does not like to stay up on its own. my son's legs werent able to reach it, but we put a pillow on top and stuff underneath during our loooong car trip and it worked just fine. ;) however, we could have just piled the stuff there and forgot about the footrest.
