Buyer Critiques
Our 3 year old son utilizes this booster and we are pleased with its functionality oftentimes the buckle is a bit challenging to unfasten, but overall it is very easily adjustable and user-friendly, specially when compared to similarly-priced competitors.
I bought this since I had the Graco MyRide 65, which is quite difficult for my 3 year old to get in and out of on his personal given that it really is a fairly significant car seat. I have to choose him up and cradle him like a child to put him in... and he is far from infant sized now.
I chose this one since it is a booster with a harness that makes use of the latch system/anchor program. My son is nevertheless as well tiny for the seat belt only booster seats, and the ones of those I have seen do not use any latch method, but just sits on the seat. I am not comfortable with that at all... I want some added protection for my youngster in case of a crash... knowledge that the seat is securely strapped down to the seat and will not go anywhere in case of a seat belt failure.
I DO like the fact that the latch has an simple and easy release button to aid loosen the latch belt for removal. The Graco did not and it was challenging to position it just appropriate to get it loosened adequate to take it out. BUT it is Genuinely tough to install alone. You have to place your knee into the seat and pull up on the latch belt to tighten it... impossible from the angle in which you are pulling. I had to get my husband (who does his fair share of weight lifting) to do it though I sat on the seat, and it was difficult for even him. The crotch strap is as well close, even on the outer most setting but my son does not complain also a lot about it.
When tightening the harness, you have to be careful since it tightens up unevenly. I do not want to tell you that is a harmful thing.
The seat is harder than the Graco MyRide 65, but it is what I was seeking for size wise. I do not feel the arm rests are removable, and you have to have a screw driver to adjust the headrest up and down, but it need to be a whilst just before I need to have to adjust it. General it appears sturdy and secure. And if I have any longer opinions on it, I will update for confident.
UPDATE
We are returning this seat. The latch did not tighten the way that we believed that it did. It actually stayed loose. The hole that the latch belt goes via is placed as well awkward. The latch will tighten completely when not attempting to install it, but when installing it, it only goes so far and leaves about 2 inches of slack and will NOT budge. That's way as well significantly play. It won't tighten with the automobile seat belt either. I personal a 2001 Lincoln LS. No other car seat that I have owned has completed this. This thing has a significant style flaw for positive. I will just stick with my Graco seat. I would rather go through a little annoyances with putting him in the seat and know that he is secure, than to have to continuously be concerned if the seat is installed effectively.
