I researched a bunch of distinctive auto seats and decided to go with this one for the reason that it was much more of a mid-range one with all of the functions that I was seeking for. I had purchased our 1st son an Alpha Omega Elite and it's OK, but I have been much less than impressed with it at occasions. I have only had the auto seat for a couple of weeks so far, but I am highly happy with it and am glad that I did not invest the added $100 on a Britax and I will be buying one particular for my husband's vehicle also (once my son can sit forward facing).
PROS:
1) The Infinite Slide Harness is certainly very easy to use. No having to rethread!
two) The harness tightening technique took me a few minutes to figure out but also is pretty handy.
three) The chair fabric is seriously plush and soft, one thing that I was concerned about when I saw a various Evenflo car seat at Target that had kind of a rougher materials.
four) My son seems to fall asleep just about every time I put him in the car seat, even when it's just a 5 minute trip from our local grocery store.
five) The crotch strap has a couple of positions, the furthest one becoming far sufficient out that it fit even my 40 lb just about 4- year old son. CONS:
1) The cupholder sucks, it truly says that you are only supposed to use it for softer paper cups (ie. not tough plastic sippy cups?) but in the grand scheme of issues, who cares?
2) The chair is quite large, I have it rear-facing in my 2006 Jetta TDI but I am so short (5' three") that I have to drive with the seat all the way up anyways. There is only a couple of inches from the prime of the carseat to the back of my seat, so my 6' husband would in no way be able to drive with it rear-facing. There is also no room for any individual else in the back seat of my automobile now with the two auto seats, but I didn't actually anticipate there to be. Guess I just will need to get a larger auto :)
three) The straps did not come with the small cushiony things on them, so the initial time my son was in it for an extended period of time he got red welts on his neck. Not so happy about that but it was conveniently fixed by buying immediately after market ones from Amazon (JJ Cole Collections Strap Cover in Graphite They are certainly soft on each sides and appear nice also) Had it not been for this issue I would have offered the seat 5 stars.
Also, if you haven't signed up for Amazon Mom yet, do that just before you acquire this auto seat.
