I purchased this car seat to replace the chicco keyfit. Both carseats meet or exceed safety standards so i will not be reviewing safety.
I decided to replace the keyfit bc
1. Fabric in keyfit is thick and not breathable. My 2 mo old would sweat like crazy in the seat.
two. Keyfit was heavy and bulky. Carrying it around was cumbersome bc of the size It didnt fit my travel technique stroller quite properly
3. Keyfit didnt quite fit in the back seat of my mini clubman. It was avery tight squeeze.
4. When i put my infant in the seat, she sits deep in the seat and commonly times, slumps, even with the infant insert. The way most car seats are desined, this appears to be a common problem
This critique is based on my knowledge with each car seats. What i liked about the cybex:
1. Fabric is lightweight and far more breathable. Granted my infant is still Hot when the climate is warm, she doesnt sweat as much.
2. This car seat appears lighter than the keyfit. When my bay goes in it, i can nevertheless carry her about. The style is streamlined, not as wide as keyfit. Also, if you are utilizing your seat as part of a stroller travel system, this seat utilizes the identical adapters as the maxi cosi seat.
three. Equivalent to keyfit, the base is very easy to install AND it fits perfectly in my clubman. No need to squish my seat to make it fit.
4. Seat is not as deep as keyfit. Baby looks comfy and does not slump. Also, there is a removable foam insert situated underneath the lining that helps prevent slumping
One particular point that I dont like about the automobile seat is that the canopy is short. Wish it extended longer
