I bought this carseat for my infant for the reason that it is top of the line when it comes to safety. As far as safety, this carseat gets 5 stars from me. Initially off, the carseat has an anti-rebound bar which prevents the carrier from rebounding into the seat of the car right after the initial impact of the crash. The videos on the Britax web page show in detail how the anti-rebound bar operates. Secondly, the carseat has side impact protection unlike any other infant seat on the marketplace. Fundamentally, there is additional assistance about the head region. Not only is this outstanding in a crash, but it is wonderful for little babies who do not have neck control finish up with their head slumping in their carseat. This extra help helps my little girl keep her head upright and comfortable. I only gave the carseat four stars for the reason that it has some much less than wonderful aspects, which I am prepared to tolerate for a seat with such high safety ratings. The seat is big. Cons: harness straps difficult to tighten (they normally appear loose to me), chest clip is tricky to move and should be unclipped to slide (I can't get it to slide when clipped), LATCH belt path goes beneath these odd clips that make it complicated to tighten, there is no Velcro to hold straps out of the way like on other Britax seats (sounds silly, but I obtain fishing for straps below my baby's butt a total inconvenience and waste of time), lever to release seat from base demands rather a but of force to get it to disengage (which appears like a really good point, but I usually have to attempt a few instances to get the seat out)
General it just sort of sucks.
