Customer Critiques
We purchased the 70 CS to replace our son's infant car seat. This seat is really properly made and doesn't take up too considerably space in our Prius. I like the security functions and added padding on the shoulder straps and across the belly. While the cover can be removed easily, it have to be hand washed and line dryed. The washing instructions are a definite unfavorable in my view, but, not sufficient for me to rank the seat less than 5 stars. I am unclear on what distinction (if any) there is between the new 70 CS and the old model. I'll leave other reviewers to comment on that. General, I am highly pleased with this vehicle seat. My son likes it as well!
I am glad I chose to go with the Britax Boulevard 70. I thought it could possibly be as well big to rear-face in our 2004 Saab 9-3 sedan, but it actually fits amazing, and we can even use it in the middle position of the backseat. My husband is 6'2" tall, and the driver side seat still goes back far sufficient for him to drive comfortably. The Boulevard takes up the similar amount of space (in the middle seat position) as the Infant Trend infant auto seat that baby just outgrew. It really is taller, though, so it comes up larger, but I can nevertheless see baby in my rearview mirror with the child mirror we have installed on the seatback. There is just no reaching back from the driver seat to try and place a binky back in baby's mouth any longer. It's a small tough to get baby into the seat mainly because of the high sides and the truth that it's installed in the middle seat position--but I know he's safer in this seat than in any other, and I feel like he's even safer in the middle of the automobile. To put him in the seat, I have to get into the backseat although holding him, turn him a little sideways and kind of lift him up and more than into the car seat. He's 22 lbs and about 28 inches lengthy. Hard to do when he does not want to sit down...but that would be the case with any vehicle seat. There's a small room to grow yet in the rear-facing position...but not a whole lot (although I don't think any seat would be in a position to offer you much alot more rear-facing room--his feet are just about touching the seatback. The click-n-secure mechanism is supposed to click when the tension in the harness is tight adequate, but I uncover that by the time it clicks, the harness is sooooo tight that my boy is particularly uncomfortable and whining, so I normally finish up loosening it a small (only adequate to get one particular finger beneath the straps). The velcro tabs that hold the harness open are a nice believed, but they don't keep the upper portion of the harness out of the way--unless you absolutely loosen the straps each and every time you get infant out, so there is slack to hang more than the sides of the auto seat. That is not too inconvenient, I am just employed to leaving the straps adjusted for baby, like in the infant seat we had. It's honestly uncomplicated to tighten the straps, although, with an upward tug of the added strap located near baby's feet. And you adjust the harness shoulder height/head protection with a click of a button and a tug, so it's super quick--no rethreading. I also like that the base of this seat is extremely streamlined, and there's room for people today to nevertheless sit in the backseat on either side of the automobile seat. A lot of the other auto seats we deemed have Large profiles--this seat is remarkably 'petite' for such a high-weight capacity convertible. The seat installed in a matter of minutes with the LATCH system. The Britax Boulevard looks and feels sturdy, and I highly recommend it. I would save funds and go without having the CS function, if you know how tight the straps should be adjusted.
